Values

I pride myself on having strong values and beliefs. One of my fundamental beliefs is the modern journalist works to speak the truth and utilise mass media to ensure the public stays informed through accurate and verified information.

In approaching my work I exercise diligence, self-determination and accountability. These values have been utilised to form my journalistic work across a range of platforms.

Experience

My experience in journalism has enabled me to engage in different mediums of reporting across television, print, online, and radio publications. I currently work as a freelance Reporter and Producer with 7News Brisbane. Previously I have worked over two years as Journalist in Townsville with the Seven Network. I have also worked in Rockhampton as a Journalist and also in Brisbane as an Associate Producer. The stories I have written from these career opportunities have enabled me to gain diverse reporting experiences, from feature stories to political news stories. Work I completed with QUTNEWS, while at university, led to me being recognised as a Finalist for ‘Most Outstanding Final Year Journalism Student Graduating 2020’ in the Queensland Clarion Awards.

Passion

My continued passion for journalism has been a constant in my life, I knew informing the public was what I wanted to do from when I was 7-years-old. This passion has continued into my adult life through my various publications online, including my own weekly political show which I conducted alongside my studies and various online articles. I also had the opportunity to conduct practical presenting training with the Australian Film Television and Radio School (AFTRS) where I was able to fine-tune my Television and Radio Presenting skills.
